Голубиная башня - сюда заманивали голубей на вкусняшку, чтобы они гнездились в этих нишах. Голубей не ели и писем с ними не слали - это все было ради ПОМЁТА!
Они и сейчас им все удобряют, даже бульвары в городе. Воняет - жуть! Им по фигу - принюхались за 300 лет!

A pigeon tower: the birds used to nest in those holes; it was to get guano from them! Guano is still the most popular fertilizer in Iran; they get it from chicken farms and use  it everywhere, even in big cities - the smell is AWFUL!
