Hmmm - interesting. It's the same here, the Maori building in wood mostly too. Their old sites if noticeable at all are just mounds in the earth. And of course us Pakeha haven't been here much longer than a century and so don't really count. And haven't built much in stone either. Plenty of wood in both countries!
