What restrictions do they place on your use of cameras? I assume no use of flash? Enjoying all these, anyway. Thanks for posting them!
I tried to get comments from Victor about these (http://www.famsi.org/mayawriting/codices/marhenke.html), but he didn't bite. I find them interesting and the civilization that produced them due to it developing in total isolation from those in the West. It perhaps gives an insight into what's universal in developed cultures, compared to more individual flourishes. (Not that I could tell you what they are - but it's an interesting search...)
yes, no flash only. viva Berlin! the never allow any photos in big museums in other countries.
Victor and Natasha are staying in the country far away, without much access to Internet. in Berlin, the Mesoamerica collection in Ethnologische Museum - it became one of the most inspiring aesthetical impressions of my whole life! you should have been there! Africa, Mesoamerica, your own Australia, NZ and Oceania - my god, from the times they were first "discovered"! those were collections!! unfortunately, i was without my camera in Berlin. frankly, I'm an idiot :(
I know Victor's away - my Maya comment was a while back. And you just side-tracked me from catching up on my FL into looking at this...
